Ok, so we put together a heightened version of the manhattan, a 150 year old cocktail that has stood the test of time, and with good reason. It's delicious!
First, we include a healthy 16 ounces of the base cocktail, a blend of Kentucky rye whiskey, Amaro Cannella and 2 types of sweet vermouth. Enough to make 5-6 cocktails.
The brandied blueberries we made in house as well, a blend of clove, allspice, star anise, juniper, sugar, rum, bourbon & cinnamon cordial. We have been using these at the bar in a variety of drinks with much success.
Lastly, we recently executed a very special barrel aged cocktail project using Frey Ranch Bourbon and our Cannella Cinnamon Cordial. There was just a tad left over and with a little tweaking we make it into a wonderful cocktail bitters.
To execute the cocktail, squeeze one dropper-full of the bitters into a rocks glass with ice. Then pour 2-3 ounces of the premixed cocktail and garnish with the brandied blueberries.
